Microsoft edge has stopped working

Hello, I have been trying to use Snapchat but when i open the app a window pops up saying "Microsoft edge has stopped working" and the same thing happens when i open microsoft edge. Recently i had to install windows on my PC again because of some factory resetting problem so my PC hasnt updated fully so could that be why? Also when i do try to check for updates it says there isnt any updates but then it also says my device isnt up to date. So 2 problems in one post i guess.Thank you for reading
