How to terminate windows 10 defender.

The windows 10 defender app is conflicting with my recently installed totalAV software. I’ve tried turning off the protection settings in the windows app, but the problem still persists of turning them both off everytime I log back onto my laptop. Since I don’t need the software anymore I’ve tried to terminate the windows defender program permanently, but it still won’t terminate. Pls help
