.pdf file opens correctly in a folder with a short path name, but incorrectly opens 'Edge' when it is longer folder name.

I downloaded a .pdf file and it correctly opened in the download folder. I moved the file to another on the computer and when double clicking it the search page of Edge appeared!.. I experimented with the folder name and it appears that a shorter folder path name is ok, but after a certain length it changes to opening Edge. Is this a bug in Windows 10?
