Received a "new apps have access to your account" but for a random email address

I got a microsoft email about Grounded (a game I don't own) being connected to my account "de***** Email address is removed for privacy ***" (I don't have any email addresses like this)Does this mean someone just set my email address as their backup email address, and now i'm getting notified of their activity?
