My motherboard had corroded transistors and a burn spot, so I bought a new one and now I cannot activate my windows 10 on the new motherboard... I thought the activation was saved on the hard drive?? IF I type in my windows 8 key that I bought a few years ago, will it activate my windows 10 or replace it with 8 again.... I want 10 to stay installed! and it would be nice if my settings did not change either.Again, can I use windows 8 key only to activate my windows 10 without it acting as if it was just installed?
