Can you fix an unsupported CPU?

I have had my PC for about six years and have had no problem with it. However, when I tried to transfer photos from my PC to my phone, my laptop told me that it could not perform that task because it was not up to date. The only update I did not install was Windows 11. Since trying to download this update, I have run into the error that my PC cannot download the update because my CPU (Processor: Intel Core i3-7100 CPU @ 2.40GHz) is not supported. Is there a way I can fix this or am I forced to get a new laptop?
