Windows 11 updates are overriding my spreadsheets

I just asked this question a week ago but can't find it now and have not received any answers or replies. Everytime my Samsung runs the windows updates, I lose my formatting for one of my highly used excel spreadsheets. I have to re-adjust columns, tab colors, view locks, etc. which is extremely time consuming when you have multiple pages to track. The files are all being saved under "microsoft spreadsheet" option vs macros, etc. options.
