notepad does not work properly

notepad If I try to use Find (ctrl/F) and click Find next text moves down but no text is highlighted and no cursor on the screen. If the text being searched is not far from the current cursor position, the process works fine for a while, but as soon as the next text is a considerable distance away, the problem repeats itself. I switched to a new local account in Windows and notepad perfectly works. But what to do with my current account to fix that problem?
