So, I have spent hours on my laptop, going through about 4,000 image files (.jpg) and rotating those files that needed to be rotated to get the correct orientation while looking at them either in the large icon view or within the photos app.They all seemed to have the correct orientation when looking at the in file explorer and the photos app, but when I take an SDLC of those photos and stick them in an image picture frame, it seems as if I wasted my time. They still have the original, wrong orientation. Windows appears to reorient the images using data other than what other apps are using
