Installed a SSD and now I have a format D drive

I asked a technician to install a SSD on my laptop. The data of my Old Windows C drive is transferred to 'format D drive'. So I think he installed SSD to 'Windows C drive'.First of all I don't know anything about drive partitioning or what else the technician has done All I want to ask can I delete the old data of Windows C drive (which is in format D) and use it as a regular drive?
