My age and why can't I change it

I am so unbelievably annoyed with Microsoft at this point. When I made an account a year ago, I got lazy and listed my birth year incorrectly. Thus I need parental consent, which my used to cover in a pinch, but now is unable to. I am 24 years old. I have been trying to change this for the last year constantly. I need to edit my account info, but remain unable to do so. Every tutorial I have searched has not helped at all. And the solutions that Microsoft offer are not much better. Please just let me use my damn account!
