Importing videos from iphone to PC, the date of importing is now the "date taken". How do I keep the original date taken with the video file?

When importing video files from my iphone to my PC laptop (Windows 11) through USB cable, the original dates of when the video was taken is automatically changing to the date of importing. Sometimes I can go in and change the date and other times the photos app does not allow me to change the date on the video file. How can I prevent this from happening? Is there a program I need to use to make the iphone video more compatible with Windows software?
