Can't turn off pointing stick (mouse thingy between G, B, and H).

Hi. I've run into a little problem with my dell laptop. The pointing stick specifically. The pointing stick (the mouse thingy between G, B, and H, moves by itself. I would turn it off but when I go to my touchpad settings to deactivate it, the following error pops up. I've tried redownloading windows, download old drivers from dell's site, EVERYTHING. But nothing is working. Please help because I am at my wit's end.
