I am currently using a Dell OptiPlex 780 PC, a brand new one that I have purchased only a few days ago. I have downloaded Steam, and when playing most games, I experience no error. However, when attempting to play Portal 2, I simply can't. I can open the game and navigate the menus just fine, and even open the level editor and tool around in there for as long as I want. It's only when the game tries to load a map that the errors occur. One of two things happen here. Either the game closes itself, or my computer blue screens. In either case, I can't play my game.
