I can't open files with paint 3d

Hey there microsoft, so my problem is when I try to click edit with paint 3d, it shows me "You'll need a new app to open this ms-paint link". I already have paint 3d installed and it still shows me that. But to open files with it I need to open paint 3d and browse files which I don't want to do.
