I got blue screen error

My laptop automatically got blue screen error which is saying "your device ran into a problem and needs to restart. We're just collecting some error info, and then we'll restart for you. 0% complete" 0% complete is showing from an half hour. I don't know what to do should I shut down. If I shut down will I lose my data.
