android word and Excel peculiar behaviour when files synchronised by third party to windows

Windows 10Android 10AllwaysyncI synchronise files between OneDrive and my pc with Allwaysync (third party) so that I can work offline.Allwaysync creates hidden folders in OneDrive containing copies of any changed files it syncs. This enables old versions to be reinstated.However, Word and Excel seem to hold onto the revised pathname when the copy is created in the hidden sync folders. So they open the wrong file.
