windows 10 home to 11 pro

i had gotten my first pc and needed to download the os. i had downloaded windows 10 pro onto a usb drive from my partners pc onto mine, i didn’t know he had windows 10 home, my pc also updated to 11 pro will i be able to activate my pc if i buy a windows 11 pro key?
