I am on Windows 10. I have already updated the software, restarted my computer, shut down my computer, and tried troubleshooter. I also did a cmd prompt of sfc/scannow which did find corrupted files it was unable to repair. I do have the CBS log available. Basically, any time I attempt to open the settings on windows, it opens for about a second or two, and then it immediately shuts down. I am still able to use the search function to navigate somewhat. Not entirely sure if this is related, but windows media player also has not been working anymore.
