Microsoft PopUp Window

For the last few months, almost every tim I use my comutert, a gre;y pop up window fills 90% of my display. After what feels like a lenghty delay, a window opens offering access to news, weather, frinance and entertainment that I might like. It identifies itself as a Microsot offering. Ihavew never clicked on any of the links, I NEVER will. I have never found a way to close the window. I have found that my only option is to walk away, do something else for a whhile, and when I come back, my conputer screen wll be back to what it ws befor I was RUDELY interupted.
