How come whenever I plug in the charger of my laptop while I'm playing a game, the device shuts off. is there a solution?

My laptop shuts off whenever I plug in the charger while I'm playing games. I'm not sure if it does this even if I'm not playing games, I haven't found out yet. (The laptop is an ACER, in case you needed to know)
