A new build PC and possible conflict of OS's, please help.

I've built a new system, with an OS (win 11 pro) pre-installed on a 512gb m.2 SSD. I want to use a lot of information (too much to transfer etc) from my original HDD, which has the original operating system, Windows 10 installed. Will the new SSD OS override the old one, on the HDD? Or will there be a conflict? Is there preparation needed before I can simply use files on the old HDD, and running the new OS on the SSD?
