Text editing cursor moving on its own while typing

I'm using windows 11 on my laptop. The text cursor has suddenly begun to move on its own. I tried to fix the problem by uninstalling and reinstalling my mouse and keyboard drivers but the problem persists. The cursor moves upwards right upto the first line when I try to type in multiple lines. I tried disabling my touch pad while using the external mouse. This didn't help either. What should I do now?
