Why is my mouse deselecting or not clicking?

Hello. I'm having a problem with my PC mouse. When I click and drag, it will deselect sometimes. The mouse was recently cleaned, the drivers are up to date and my wireless one doesn't do this. The problem persists in every software and even on the desktop. The problematic mouse is 5 years old and I use my PC often. Is it just time to replace it?
