So I was given a Dell desktop and it works , however, it is only connecting to my 2.4G even with WiFi extender. My computer doesn't show me an option to connect to 5G. I went online and my desktop supports 802.11n. What else do I need to do? My computer is running slow and I have days where I work from home. TIACheck Compatibility: Ensure your desktop supports 5G. You can do this by opening Command Prompt and typing netsh wlan show drivers. Look for the line that says “Radio types supported” and check if it includes 802.11a, 802.11n, or 802.11ac1.
