My screen won't turn on after an 'Update and Shut Down'

Hey, Last night after using my laptop as usual it worked totally fine and as I was about to close it I saw that there was an update available, So I clicked on the update and shutdown option as I wasn't using the laptop anymore. The next day when I turned my laptop on, the screen wasn't booting up and I could only see the power button being turned on. Is this issue related to the Microsoft global outage or is it a fault with my laptop.
