Autoplay not working windows 10

Can't access a sd card on laptop using windows 10.I'm inserting my SD card but it's not automatically being read. I've checked the settings which are on 'open folder to view files', but it's still not reading the SD card.Please advise how to read the card? Do I need to restart the laptop?Thanks.
