Photo app issue

Since the crash on the 19th I'm having issues with my Photos. Once in the app everything is moving slow, click on a photo to edit or delete, it takes minutes to open. Once in scrolling is at a snails pace. I've got 4000 photos I don't want to loose, but I'm also trying to eliminate photos and it's becoming impossible. What can I do?
