Wifi automatically disconnects and the wifi icon in the system tray dissapears

My wifi will automatically stop working and the wifi icon in the system tray dissapears and when i search for the wifi settings they seem to have been removed from my computer aswell. Some solutions that i have tried are restarting my laptop and a network reset. They normally (but not always) solve the problem but only for a few hours.Any ideas?thanks,
