Real-Time Protection high temp/cpu usage when external hub with HDDs is connected to USB

I'm getting high temps on my CPU when idle (70-73c) with an usb hub with 10 external HDDs connected.If I disconnect the hub, the temps drop to high 40c. When I plug it back in, it spikes again to 70+c.If I keep it plugged in but turn off Real-Time Protection the temp drops back to high 40s.
