Video_tdr_failure

Hello,Recently I have been getting a video_tdr_failure bsod every time I try and load a game. I have a 7 year old computer with a Nvidia Geforce 1080TI. I have already tried formatting my pc. When this BSOD has popped up recently, my displays stop working, also when i shut off my pc i cannot fully shut it off as the power never stops running so i have to unplug it.
