Microsoft PDF inconsistency! I want it A4 but the paper size stays on Letter!

Hi,Just wondering if microsoft has fixed this issue?Why can't we change the paper available?In the Preferences it is sticking as A4 but it doesn't change the Paper size so it's still printing everything Letter! I have to change it each time i print something and this is sooooooooooooo annoying!!!
