I've purchased Windows 7 home premium in 2013 or 2014. Upgraded it to Windows 10 for free and this year the laptop that it was installed on died completely. Tried to install windows 10 on another computer using my license, but it doesn't activate saying i don't have a valid license. how can i activate it if clearly that old device wasn't linked to my microsoft account (logged onto it to find no devices on the list). Still have the box with the installation dvds and the license number.
