Speaker icon not clicking

I cant click the speaker icon on my taskbar until I have opened task manager and restarted windows explorer, which gets incredibly annoying.I've tried the top answers to Redirecting but to no avail, it keeps having the same problem.Once I've restarted windows explorer it works again for a short time before I have to restart it AGAIN. This issue is recent and its never happened to me before.
