After updating Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 with Media Creation Tool system is not activated

Initially I had Windows 8.1 with active license and wanted to upgrade to Windows 10 using Media Creation Tool.All articles say that upgrade using Media Creation Tool should be free if I had original license. Also in the process of Windows upgrade I was not asked for a new license key.However, after the upgrade my system tells me that Windows is not activated.Anything I can do to activate Windows except for buying a new license?Additionally, if I revert back to Windows 8.1, will my activation license still be in place?
