How to keep desktop icons arranged across laptop & additional screen

I am using Lenovo ThinkPad laptop, i have arranged my desktop icons on my laptop screen the way i want them. But when i connect my laptop to another screen (monitor) the icons are messed. They are not in order as i have arranged them on my laptop screen. Simply i want the icons to be where i want them whether i am using my laptop or connecting to other screens. Please see the photos for more information.
