Battery life shows 0% always when it plugs in, and quickly turns off when I unplugged it

I purchased Microsoft Surface laptop 4 11th Gen Core i5 512GB ,this week But the battery does not charge and as I unplug it ,it turns off. I try to hold on power bottom for 20 seconds and turn it on when is unplug but It didn't turn on.
