HELP!!! Can someone assist with opening and editing SVG and PDF files?

I am operating windows 10. I have several svgs and pdf's I would like to open without a 3rd party. I have installed the recommended Powertoys, went to file explorer add ons to ensure all the boxes were checked and turned on, restarted my computer and I still have the same problem. I cannot open svg files to edit. I have uninstalled the Powertoys add on. What are my options? Thank you This is how they are opening now. And to the left are the only programs that I can change it to. Thank you.
