Has there ever been a solid response to the issue of a child's account showing as pending despite them having accepted?

I have read through every one of the "responses" and the best response I saw, outside of the person with the xbox account edit, was to email support. Is this still the best course of action to try and get this resolved. I have spent more time logging into my Microsoft account over the last 2 days than I care to admit. Quite frustrating.
