How can I use my D drive

Hi, i'm using Windows 10 and have a D SSD drive wot 1TB. I have formaten this drive to remove everyting and want to use this drive again.Now I try to install a program (xamp) but I get a warning that it is not posible to instal a program because the drive is not ready. How do I get the D drive ready to use?
