My microphone has static yet can hear myself in the background

When I try to use my microphone it just has static like I can hear myself in the background but the static is too loud. I tried almost everything, from checking the driver updates to lowering the device's audio sensitivity, but nothing worked. For more information, my microphone is a built-in Microsoft array microphone.
