Upgrading to windows 10 from windows 7

Hi I'm GiftI have trouble trying to install windows 10 on my PC, I have diagnosed that my windows 8.1 are not active. The laptop still has the sticker for the product key but the thing is the key doesn't work I don't know why.I tried to activate windows I couldn't, is there any alternative that I should try that may assist me in trying to install these windows?
