i am having trouble with windows security

i am having trouble with opening my windows security protection history, it just briefly opens and then closes before i can do anything, how do i fix this? because the defender keeps flagging everything as a threat an taking actions before i can even click allow, and generally I'd like access to my protection historymy system is an hp omen 17windows 10250GB SSD750GB HDD8GB RAM
