Windows 11 link Meta Quest VR and Steam WITHOUT Cable.

I have a windows 11 laptop 2023 vintage (a modern gaming one). I am trying to use my meta quest VR goggles in Steam. I am being told I need an ethernet cable linking my modem to my computer. Why? It's a laptop.I've happily been using wifi for over a decade.My laptop doesn't even have an ethernet connection!
