Access to my Hotmail account from my browser. Will something like that be required in Sept 16th 2024?

I access my Hotmail acct from my browser. I don't want/have an app on my PC that accesses my email via a remote handshake and downloads the emails to a local email app on my PC. Will something like that be required in Sept 16th 2024?
