Audio troubleshooter runs automatically when clicking the speaker icon, but it can't start the service; access is denied. (I've recently had to do a system restore as some apps declared that side-by-side configuration was incorrect and trying to run sfc /scannow wouldn't work because it always said there was a system repair pending. The restore corrected those problems but now there's no audio - and neither is there any option to run command prompt as an admin, although I've found a workaround for that).
