I can’t sign into my windows 10 Lenovo laptop

On the sign in screen it asks for a pin. I had no idea what that might be, but there are no options for sign in available.It does have the forgot pin option underneath, but when I select that, the screen goes black for 4 secs and then goes back to an unchanged sign in screen.When I typed in what I thought might be the pin a text box shows saying sign in rejected by administrator. Sign in using administrator account first.
