How to fix hp pavilion laptop wifi virtual adaptor code 45

For a few weeks now my hp pavilion laptop wont recognise any avaliable wifi networks. I have reset wifi settings to no avail. When i open my device manager it tells me that my microsoft wifi direct virtual adapter is not connected due to code 45It keeps requesting i connect my ethernet cable, but i have nevee before used one and have been able to connect to wifi for years on this laptop. Please help me ((
