Working Bootable SSD is "unknown, not initialised" when connected to another computer via USB.

Hi All,Running win 10 on an 8 year old HP laptop, I have replaced my SSD although my old one worked fine but was lacking space. Anyway, I would like to access what's on the old SSD so I put it in a USB adaptor thing and plugged it into the computer (which is running on my new SSD) but it does not show in Explorer. It does show up in Disk Management but it shows as unknown, not initialised. But, and here's the thing, if I remove the new SSD and reinsert the old SSD it boots up fine and seems to be fully functional so I don't know why it won't show as an external disk.I could try to initialise i
