Memory usage does not add up to the amount that seems to be being used

If i look at the Task Manager, it says that 12.8 GB (out of 16) is being used, 87%. But if i look at the Processes tab, and add them all up, all the way to the bottom where even very small processes are listed (down to ones at 0MB and quite a few at 0.1MB) ...adding them up, it adds up to far short of 12.8 GB being used. The processes added up add up to just short of 6GB, a tad less than half of what the system says it is consuming.Can somebody explain what this means? What is all that additional memory going to such that the system thinks that 12.8GB is in use? I thought that 16GB would be p
