Memory usage does not add up to the amount that seems to be being used

If i look at the Task Manager, it says that 12.8 GB (out of 16) is being used, 87%. But if i look at the Processes tab, and add them all up, all the way to the bottom where even very small processes are listed (down to ones at 0MB and quite a few at 0.1MB) ...adding them up, it adds up to far short of 12.8 GB being used. The processes added up add up to just short of 6GB, a tad less than half of what the system says it is consuming.Can somebody explain what this means?
